The Calgary Police Service has released a statement detailing Monday’s fatal CTrain incident in downtown Calgary.
According to the release, a 32-year-old man had fallen off a platform at the 7th Street SW CTrain Station, falling between the first and second cars of a westbound train at 3:20 pm on Monday, September 16.

While the train in question had been stationary at the time of the fall, it dragged the man for “a short distance” once it started moving, the release states.
The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries which would ultimately take his life.
Police to do not believe that speed was a factor in the collision, though they are still investigating if drugs or alcohol were involved
