Calgary is getting a new Malaysian restaurant and it's opening soon

Malaysian restaurants are few and far between in Calgary, but luckily for us, a brand-new restaurant showcasing flavours from the region is opening soon.

Taking over the old Jus Fruit space in Sunnyside, Makan Malaysian Cuisine will be offering a taste of Malay dining from its restaurant at 314a 10 St. NW.

While the restaurant has yet to reveal its full menu, Makan Malaysian Cuisine has shared teasers on its social media about a handful of the dishes on offer, including nasi lemak, laksa, and Sabah-style Butter Chicken.

For those looking for a sweet treat, the spot is also offering some delicious beverages such as its Mango sago, which combines mango, chewy sago pearls, and coconut milk, or its Milo Dinosaur, made with the nostalgic iced malted chocolate drink topped with even more powder.

Makan Malaysian Cuisine hasn’t announced an official opening date, but it’s certainly a spot to get excited about.
