
When you think of a ski resort, fresh snow and ski runs likely come to mind, but one Alberta destination is gaining global attention as a top summer hotspot.
Inghams Ski compiled a list of the top ski resorts in the world by looking at four years of travel search data, comparing demand between the peak summer months and the peak winter months.
The study found that several destinations are now attracting more interest in the warmer months, with Lake Louise among those seeing increased summer travel searches.
Lake Louise came in fourth place, with a 27.99 per cent increase in summer searches compared to winter.

“Covering a staggering 4,200 acres, Lake Louise’s resort offers plenty of diversity during summer, with the iconic glisten of Lake Louise’s turquoise waters below arguably one of the top draws for visitors booking the ski resort during the summer period.”
The ranking highlighted the wide range of summer activities available in the area, including wildlife watching, whitewater rafting, gondola rides, and hiking.
Lake Louise was one of two Canadian destinations to make the list, alongside Revelstoke, B.C., which came in ninth place with a 10.90 per cent increase in summer searches.
Fort William in Scotland recorded a staggering 89.52 per cent increase in summer search interest compared to winter, putting it at the top of the list.
It was followed by Jackson Hole in the United States with a 77.87 per cent increase, and Glencoe in Scotland rounded out the top three with a 41.53 per cent rise.
According to Inghams Ski’s methodology, the percentages are calculated by comparing average search volumes for each destination during the peak summer months of June through August against the peak winter months of December through February from 2022 to 2025.
Lake Louise is no stranger to the spotlight; it’s even been named one of the best winter destinations in the world.
