New Balance Canada is stoking the fires even further by releasing some new Kawhi Leonard shirts. Hot off the heels of their “Fun Guy” shirts, New Balance is putting out some new “Board Man Gets Paid” tees.
It’s an ode to this piece in The Athletic that revealed Kawhi used to trash talk his college opponents on the court by saying “board man gets paid.”
The “board man” meme has spread like wildfire across social media, even spawning this too-good-to-be-true Kawhi fan fiction about Leonard’s love of apples from comedy writer Mike Carmerlengo, which then turned into its own t-shirt.

New Balance is taking pre-orders for these 100% legit “Board Man Gets Paid” shirts, which are a nice compliment to the existing “Fun Guy” Kawhi shirts, which are flying off the shelves.

Pre-orders for the New Balance “Board Man” shirts begin this Friday at 11 am ET on the New Balance Canada website. If they’re half as popular as the “Fun Guy” shirts, they’ll be scooped up in no time by Raptors fans.
