Not all events have been cancelled in Calgary this summer.

With new COVID-19 cases on the decline, businesses reopening, and the province easing restrictions on gatherings both indoors and out, a number of new events have been announced by the Inglewood Business Improvement Area.

The events, which all require physical distancing and other public health measures in place, will be located at Gopher Park on the corner of 11th Street and 11th Avenue SW, a release from Inglewood BIA states.

Sunday mornings throughout July will see a weekly performance by local band the Motherhuggers.

Saturday, July 4, will see an outdoor screening of Down By Law that begins at 9 pm, with popcorn and drinks available for purchase and space available for 50 attendees.

Saturday July 11 and 18 will feature performances by cellist Shirley Wright focused on early Italian composer.

That concert will take place from 10:30 am to noon on both days.

Alongside the newly announced events are the wide variety of restaurants, shops, and businesses that have reopened in the area following a lengthy closure.
