Beloved Calgary coffee shop to change ownership after four years

A much-loved neighbourhood coffee shop has shared that it will be changing ownership next month.
Fringe Coffee, a popular spot in Montgomery, opened its doors to Calgarians four years ago. But in a recent Instagram post, the team shared that the coffee shop would soon be changing hands, with a new owner set to take over on Aug. 1.
“While saying goodbye is truly bittersweet, we’re excited to see Fringe continue its story. We hope you’ll welcome the new owner with the same kindness, encouragement, and support that you’ve shown us over the past four wonderful years,” said owners Melissa and Ali.

Over the years, the spot became a firm favourite for locals for its warm hospitality, coffee, and breakfast and lunch options.
The Fringe team also thanked the community for all its support over the years.
“From the very beginning, you welcomed us with open arms. You supported a small local business, shared your mornings with us, celebrated milestones with us, and filled our café with countless conversations, laughter, and friendships. You weren’t just our customers—you became the heart of Fringe.”
While it’s the end of an era, it’s good to see that Fringe Coffee will be sticking around.
