Several sandwich brands sold in Alberta are being recalled over a possible Listeria risk
Dozens of sandwiches made by a Calgary-based company and sold across Alberta are being recalled due to a possible Listeria risk.
In a recall notice shared on Sept. 17, 2026, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said that 28 different sandwich varieties made by Fresh Bites were being removed from the marketplace due to “possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.”
The impacted products are listed under several brands, including Fresh Bites, Fresh & Local, and Spyhill, with fillings such as ham and cheese, turkey and bacon, and more.

While the recall was triggered by the company, no illnesses related to consuming the sandwiches have been reported so far.
Consumers are being urged to check to see if they have any of the recalled products and, if so, not to eat or serve them. Anyone who does become sick after eating one of the impacted products should contact their local health provider.
