Whether you are an experienced artist looking for a way to let loose, or just a curious budding creative, the second annual Expresstival is the perfect opportunity to get a little messy.

Its first annual kick-off event took place last year and was the largest Lot 6 had seen, with over 1,000 people in attendance.
There will be over 100 artists in attendance, giving visitors a chance to get a glimpse into their artwork and process… and be a part of it! The hope is to bring “interactive art to the public” so that “Calgarians can enjoy local art in a meaningful hands-on way.”
There will be local artwork for sale, but the main emphasis will be on interacting with the artwork.

The festival has also put a huge emphasis on accessibility.Ā
āSome of our art events are increasingly hard to get accepted into, with successful artists chosen based on their art and marketability; itās not why I got into working in the arts. I wanted to get back to my roots of providing a platform for all artists and sharing our art in a way that is organic, meaningful and above all, fun,ā says ArtSpot founder Emma Justine.

Something new this year is the festival will be showcasing youth artwork alongside other artists. There will also be live music to keep the good vibes throughout the afternoon.
