23 events to check out at this year's Exposure Photography Festival

It’s time to up that photo game.

Calgary’s Exposure Photography Festival is returning to the city for its 16th year, and with it comes plenty of awesome (and, for the most part, FREE) events to check out.

We’ve put together a list of the when, where, and who for various artist talks, seminars, photography walks, and parties that are taking place for the festival throughout February, so make sure that you don’t miss out on all the fun.

Exposure Launch Party

What: Celebrate the festival’s launch at Exposure’s HQ, Contemporary Calgary!

When: Friday, January 31
Time: 7 to 9 pm

Exposure After Party

What: Keep the party going by heading over to Last Best Brewing directly after the launch party.

When: Friday, January 31

The FENCE Exhibit Opening

What: Head over to the UofC Downtown Campus to enjoy a presentation of The FENCE Exhibit and a talk from co-founder Dave Shelley.

Tzavta Cultural Dinner Salon 2020 Visions: Photography Now

What: Sidewalk Citizen is hosting an event that encourages shared food and conversation, with speakers offering insight into the world of photography.

SEITIES Publication Launch, Analogue Exhibition and Tinytypes

Gemma Marmalade and Philip Harris Exhibition Tour

What: Listen in to a talk between Gemma Marmalade and Philip Harris, both academics for BA Photography with the University of Derby, UK.

Fabricating Fictions & Cranky and Resistant — Talks by Dr Philip Harris & Gemma Marmalade

What: Harris and Marmalade will discuss both the use of photography to deal with cultural themes and political issues as well as navigating the subversive voice.
