Dear Evan Hansen is coming to Calgary this winter

The biggest musical of 2017 is on its way to Calgary this winter.

Dear Evan Hansen, the story of a teenage boy who gets wrapped up in a tragic event by happenstance, is playing in Calgary this February as part of the Broadway Across Canada 19/20 Calgary Season.

Tickets for the play go on sale this December 2, and Calgarians will have their choice of shows running from February 18 to 23, according to a release from Broadway Across Canada.

Dear Evan Hansen picked up six Tony awards in 2017, including best musical, as well as a 2018 Grammy Award.

To celebrate the show’s two-year anniversary, the Broadway production donated the show’s iconic blue polo and arm cast to the permanent collection of the National Museum of American History, according to the release.

The shows will play at Calgary’s Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, Edmonton, Vancouver, and a number of American cities.
