CPS Arson Unit investigating after 2 people found dead in Saturday fire

The Calgary Police Service’s Homicide Unit and Arson Unit are working to determine the cause of a fatal fire that took the lives of two people on Saturday.

According to a release from CPS, emergency crews were called to a scene on the 100 block of Kincora Drive NW around 2 pm on May 25 after neighbours reported an explosion and fire.

Two people were found dead at the scene while a third person had suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

“While details remain limited, investigators believe the fire was not accidental and that this incident is domestic related,” the release states.

“A suspect is not being sought at this time.”

No other victims were found following a search of the home by the Calgary Fire Department.

Autopsies of the two bodies are planned for Monday, May 27.
