One of Calgary’s favourite art galleries has officially reopened.

Contemporary Calgary announced in a press release earlier this month that it would be inviting the public back in through its doors as of September 17, and will be running two new exhibitions.

Yoko Ono’s GROWING FREEDOM and Omar Bar’s Same Dream will be on display through to January 31, 2021.

GROWING FREEDOM includes text-based instructions, participatory works, and “an arc of collaborative art projects for peace undertaken by Yoko Ono and Jon Lennon.”

Same Dream, from Senegalese artist Ba, is a collection of paintings that “evokes a shared cosmogony between humans, plants and animals,” the release states.

Due to coronavirus precautions, tickets will be timed, so would-be attendees can choose their ideal admission time while purchasing tickets online.

As of today, Contemporary Calgary is open from noon to 7 pm on Thursdays through Saturdays and noon to 5 pm on Sundays.
