Get ready to have your minds blown and breaths stolen because Cirque du Soleil is coming back to Calgary for its latest production.

LUZIA is a Mexican-themed show and promises to bring audiences “to an imaginary Mexico, like in a waking dream.” The name is a combination of two Spanish words: “luz” for light and “lluvia” for rain.

The last time Cirque du Soleil was in Calgary was in 2015 with their show Kurios.

There will be acrobats swinging and leaping, performing unbelievable feats, with some performances that feature water, adding “a level of acrobatic complexity never-before-seen” to the show.

Audiences will be taken on a journey from “an urban setting to the natural world, past to present, tradition to modernity.”

A new white and gold Big Top will be raised on Wednesday. This will be the first time that the Big Top features patterns that are directly connected to the theme of the show and presents the meeting of the sun and moon, according to a release from the show.

LUZIA will be here in Calgary from August 16 to September 22. Tickets are now available on their website.
