First Krispy Kreme, now Chick-fil-A. It’s gearing up to be a big few days for foodies in Calgary as the popular chicken restaurant has revealed it will finally be opening its second outpost in the city.

The latest Chick-fil-A outpost will be located at 1500 250 East Hills Sq. SE and will be opening its doors to the public on Thursday, May 29.

The new restaurant, which includes a drive-thru, will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Hype for the chicken spot has been intense, with diners willing to wait in line for 12 hours to be the first to get their hands on Chick-fil-A’s signature chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and handspun milkshakes, when it opened on Macleod Trail last year.

After opening several locations in Edmonton and one in Calgary last year, Chick-fil-A is showing no signs of slowing down its rapid expansion across Alberta. The chain plans to open 20 locations in Alberta by 2030.
