Central Library to turn into giant escape room on Valentine's Day

Feb 11 2020, 11:28 pm

You may have found your way out of a few escape rooms in your day, but this is another matter entirely.

Locked Library is an event that will see teams of contestants entering Central Library on February 14, trying to escape the building within the allotted time.

This won’t be the first time that Locked Library has be held at Central Library, and past events have seen upwards of 1,000 people trying to work their way out in a race to escape.

The event is expected to last up an hour and a half and will run from 7 to 9:30 pm — giving attendees a chance to experience the architecturally stunning building after hours.

Tickets are $31.50 a head, and groups can register together to ensure they are on the same clue-hunting squad — or, if you’re buying separately, but know the names of the team members you’d like to join, you are asked to write their names into the special instructions section of the shopping cart.

The first 700 attendees to arrive will even get a free treat from Village Ice Cream.

All proceeds go towards supporting the Calgary Public Library.
