What: Former First Lady Michelle Obama is coming to Alberta on her Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama tour. As the first-ever African American First Lady, Obama helped create a welcoming and inclusive White House, while also establishing herself as a powerful advocate for women and girls everywhere. In keeping with her commitment to making her events accessible to as many people as possible, Obama and Live Nation will donate a portion of ticket inventory in each market to various charities, schools, and community groups in each city the tour visits.

Great Canadian Sugar Rush Festival 2019

What: Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge is hosting its first ever Great Canadian Sugar Rush Festival to celebrate the start of the Canadian Maple Season. Included in the festivities will be a tooth-melting amount of maple syrup taffy, outdoor activities, and even a maple-inspired cocktail bar for the adults in attendance.

Attendees will be able to partake in a dog sleigh display, wagons rides, a skating party, an ice-chipping station, a beavertail contest, and enjoy the warmth of a bonfire while listening to live music. Outdoor activities will include snowshoe tours, fat biking, mountain yoga, and stargazing.

Give a F*ck

What: Give a F*ck is a political art show and cocktail night at Koi that looks at issues including justice and reconciliation for Indigenous women, strengthening our minds against online harassment, mental health & resiliency, body positivity and more. Put on by Payton G Design and New Dawn, this show features local artists from multiple disciplines including design, dance, music, photography and painting.

The Invisible Vegan

Night Tubing at Canada Olympic Park 

What: For the remainder of this winter season, the Acura Tube Park will be open on select nights from 5 to 7:30 pm, allowing business-hour-workers the chance to go for a few slides — without the hassle of the crowded slopes on the weekend. If not night tubing, the park is also open on most weekend days from 10 am to 1 pm or 2 to 5 pm.
