Calgary Night Market

What: Spend your Friday or Saturday evening shopping your favourite local makers, while munching on delicious eats and listening live entertainment. The market has two locations this summer – Calgary Night Market Bridgeland and Calgary Night Market SOUTH.

Fort Calgary Presents: Black & White Movie Nights

What: Join Fort Calgary in the Burnswest Theatre for a night at the movies. Grab snacks and a cocktail at this licensed event, and enjoy a classic black and white movie in Fort Calgary’s newly renovated theatre. Complimentary museum admission included with ticket.

Isle of Dogs at Central Memorial Park

What: On July 26, Calgarians will be able to cuddle up under the stars for an outdoor showing of Wes Anderson’s 2018 stop motion marvel Isle of Dogs on the lawn of Central Memorial Park, hosted by the Beltline Neighbourhoods Association. While the movie is free for all to watch, bring a bit of cash to enjoy the various food trucks and beer garden. A live DJ will also be on scene to get the party started early, and it is recommended to bring your own blanket to act as an impromptu movie theatre seat.

Chaos AB 2019

What: CHAOS AB will bring some of rock and metal’s biggest names to Edmonton’s Kinsmen Park for a two-day event this July. The festival will see Disturbed and Slayer headlining on Friday, July 26, while Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson will tear up the stages on Saturday, July 27. Also included in the lineup are Headstones, GWAR, Animals as Leaders, One Bad Son, Royal Tusk, The Dirty Nil, Light the Torch, and Selfish Things.

Calgary Folk Music Festival 2019

What: The 2019 Calgary Folk Music Festival takes over Prince’s Island Park ablaze with lyrically lush folk music from headlining performers including Belle & Sebastian, Half Moon Run, The Strumbellas, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and over 60 other artists. Plus attendees can expect some drool-worthy food and drinks at this annual event.

Acadia’s Garden & Art Tour

The Strumbellas

What: The six-piece collective rocketed to mainstream success with their breakthrough hit “Spirits, which hit number one on Billboard’s Alternative Chart, won a 2017 Juno for Single of the Year and cracked the Top Ten in Europe. They perform as part of the Calgary Folk Music Festival on July 28.

Wings Over Springbank Airshow

What: The thunderous roar of formation-flying jets screaming across the Springbank sky will officially return this summer. The Canadian Forces’ Snowbirds, a nine-plane demonstration team, will mark their fourth appearance at the Wings Over Springbank Airshow. Also featuring the F18 Demo Team, Brent Handy, Erickson Aircraft Collection, and Team Rocket.

Historic Calgary Week: A New Star in our Planetarium

First Time in Drag – In support of the Calgary AIDS Walk & Run
