Movie Night with Sickle Cell Foundation of Alberta – Calgary Chapter
What: Sickle Cell Foundation of Alberta – Calgary Chapter will be showing Spilled Milk, a documentary about a Sickle Cell Warrior named Omar. It showcases the ups and downs of living with Sickle Cell Disease as well as the unbreakable human spirit. There will also be a panel discussion at the end of the movie with time for questions from the audience. Light refreshments will be available for sale by the SVG Association.

The Gathering Music 2019
What: Cult Marketing’s The Gathering 2019 is an annual event held at the Fairmont Banff Springs that creates a think tank for ideas and innovation in all things marketing and entertainment. This year sees headlining bands such as Yukon Blonde, Dear Rouge, Holy F*ck, Cadence Weapon, and Bun B. Shown in a series style format, live shows will be entertaining music lovers at the Banff Springs concert stage and the Rose & Crown.

Coldest Night of the Year
What: Homelessness and being hungry are two things that plague way too many Canadians, especially during this time of year. On the 25th walk with hundreds of others in Canada’s ‘Unofficial” Walk for Homelessness and raise money for select charities to help out those in need in our communities.

PetSmart National Pet Adoption Weekend
What: More than 1800 pets will be up for adoption from February 22 to 24 as part of PetSmart Charities of Canada’s National Adoption Weekend. Held at almost all of its 140 stores across the country, thousands of puppies and dogs, kittens and cats, guinea pigs, rabbits and other small animals will be looking for loving forever homes. The animals come from more than 200 local shelters and rescue organizations.
