Calgary weather takes a COLD turn with risk of flurries in forecast

Oct 1 2025, 6:14 pm

We may have just entered October here in Calgary, but the forecast is hinting at conditions that look a little more like winter weather than fall.

According to the Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecast, the weather in Calgary is above average as we wrap up the workweek, but things sure take a turn over the weekend.

Calgary is forecast to reach a high of 19°C today before a tiny dip to a high of 18°C tomorrow, with an overnight low of 5°C on Wednesday night.

Finishing up the workweek and heading into the weekend, daytime highs are taking a downward trend, with a high of 18°C on Friday before dipping to 11°C on Saturday, and then rising again to a high of just 7°C on Sunday.

We even have the chance of seeing temperatures in the minus for the first time in a while, with a risk of rain showers or even flurries Saturday night.

It has been a while since Calgary dipped below the freezing mark, with the city last seeing temperatures below zero on April 28 of this year.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though. Temperatures are set to rebound as we start next week, with Monday expected to be above-average for this time of year, and a high of 20°C is forecasted for Tuesday, accompanied by plenty of sunshine.
