With new buildings popping up all the time in Calgary these days, we thought it would be fun to take a look back and explore what the city’s downtown and surrounding area looked like in the early 20th century.
We dug through the archives of Prairie Towns and the University of Alberta’s Peel’s Prairie Provinces collection and found some cool old-timey photos featuring Calgary buildings of years past.
Some of these buildings are still around today, with major facelifts (we’re looking at you, City Hall and King Eddy), while others have disappeared entirely.
