A sizzling hot forecast is on tap for the rest of the Calgary Stampede

After a weekend of wild weather in southern Alberta, the forecast for the final stretch of the Calgary Stampede is looking perfect.

Plenty of rain fell at the chilly Stampede grounds yesterday, with numerous severe thunderstorm warnings coming and going during the afternoon.

If you’re a fan of the heat and sunshine, the upcoming seven-day forecast will be a delight.

Starting with today, July 6, a high of 22°C is forecast with plenty of sun. Tuesday, July 7, will see stronger heat arrive with a daytime high of 28°C, and on Wednesday, July 8, the hottest day of Stampede is expected with a high of 29°C.

Thursday, July 9, is the only day in the forecast that throws in some cloud cover, with a slight dip in temperature and a high of 23°C.

Temperatures start to climb as the final weekend of the Calgary Stampede gets going, with Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, both netting a high of 25°C. The last day of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth is shaping up to be a magnificent one, with nothing but sunshine and a high of 27°C.

According to ECCC, the average high for this time of year in Calgary is 22°C, and the average low is 9°C.
