
The countdown is on, and with Stampede right around the corner, the whole city is feeling the anticipation. While we wait for the time to go by, why not take a short stroll through history? These vintage photos of the Calgary Stampede date all the way back to the 1900s, and they’re pretty cool to see.
We spent some time digging through photographs in the Glenbow Archives in the University of Calgary’s digital collections to snag some shots of the Calgary Stampede from years past.
While the photos you can take on your phone nowadays might surpass these in quality, you’ll definitely still recognize a lot of the events and traditions we still have today.
