Here's what's open and closed on Remembrance Day in Calgary
Remembrance Day is coming up on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026. It is a day that honours those who lost their lives protecting our country, and some services may be closed or have adjusted hours in Calgary to commemorate the day.
Here are some services that will have adjusted hours on Nov. 11 for Remembrance Day.
Calgary Public Library
Calgary Public Library/Facebook
Memorial Park Library will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Nov. 11, while all other branches of the Calgary Public Library will be closed
Grocery and liquor stores

While grocery and liquor stores are considered essential services and are generally open across the city, they might be operating on adjusted hours. We advise checking your favourite location before you go, just to confirm:

Canada Post will be closed on Remembrance Day. There will be no collection or delivery of mail on that day.

Cineplex Entertainment, Landmark Cinemas, and Canyon Meadows Cinemas will be open on Remembrance Day.

Transit

The City of Calgary will operate buses, CTrain, and On Demand on a Saturday level of service on Remembrance Day. All veterans and accompanying family members will be able to ride transit for free.

Malls

Malls like Chinook Centre and Market Mall will be operating on their holiday hours on Nov. 11, from 11:05 a.m. to 6 p.m. Southcentre will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
