Police are investigating what a CPS release is calling a “suspicious death” in southeast Calgary on Friday.

According to a release, Calgary Police Service officers responded to a call reporting a “disturbance between two downstairs occupants” made by the upstairs tenant of a four-plex building on the 2500 block of 9th Street SE.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s dead, and a 39-year-old man who was promptly taken into custody.

The homicide unit is leading the investigation.

Charges are currently pending, though details will not be released by CPS until the scheduled autopsy is completed on December 30.

Police are, however, asking anyone who may have any information about the incident to come forward and contact the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line of 403-266-1234.

Tips can also be left anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477, or online through their website.
