Take your stargazing experience to the next level by learning what and where the best views are around Calgary.
Join Starman Don Hladiuk for a night of practical cosmic exploration that will leave you with a deeper understanding of the otherworldly objects visible from Calgary.
For example, the following photo that Hladiuk took of Jupiter and Venus over the city.
Using binoculars or a telephoto lens on a camera will show you Jupiter’s Galilean satellites (and Mars to the right) as shown in this image taken on the morning of January 6 from south Calgary. #calgaryphotos pic.twitter.com/Hj4MeowVUv

Alberta does have some of the best stargazing in the entire world, after all.
Hladiuk will first sit down with the group and give a basic presentation on Astronomy before taking everyone outside to see the dazzling sky.
Hladiuk has appeared as Starman on the CBC’s Eyeopener program at least once a month for the last 33 years, giving a debrief on the latest developments in the world of space exploration.
The Night Sky Wonders event will be hosted at the Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Centre indoor theatre in Fish Creek Provincial Park.
It could get cold so participants are encouraged to wear warm clothing.
