WestJet adds three new domestic flights from Calgary this summer

If you’re planning to travel out of Calgary this year, three destinations just got easier to reach with WestJet announcing new flights out of YYC coming this summer.
On Monday, the Calgary-based airline announced the addition of three new non-stop summer flights from Calgary to Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay, Ont., and Campbell River, B.C.
“The season of summer travel is fast-approaching, and WestJet’s expanded direct flights will encourage Canadians to see more of their country,” said Balazs Bogats, Calgary Airport’s chief commercial officer, in a release.
“YYC is proud to partner with WestJet to connect travellers with great destinations across Canada and around the globe.”
Flights to Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay will run two times a week, with the first Sault Ste. Marie flight taking off on June 12, 2026. North Bay flights will start on June 19, 2026. The new Campbell River route will run daily starting on May 15, 2026.

Aside from the new flights out of Calgary, WestJet also announced expanded service across several domestic routes, including more flights between Eastern and Western Canada and a significant boost in service through Halifax.
It is also adding non-stop seasonal service between Edmonton and Terrace, B.C., starting on May 19, 2026.
“Adding these routes to our summer 2026 schedule reinforces WestJet’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and supporting tourism and economic growth across Canada,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
“The new routes will give guests from across Canada greater choice to explore their own backyard, as well as more efficient access to onward connections through WestJet’s home province.”
It’s been a busy couple of months for YYC, with new flights to South America, the Middle East, and Mexico being announced.
