WestJet adds a new South American destination from Calgary this fall
Get ready, Calgary, because WestJet has just announced it’s adding a new South American destination to its flight routes this fall.
The Calgary-based airline said on Monday morning that it will begin providing service to Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) in São Paulo, Brazil, marking the airline’s 100th destination from YYC Calgary Airport.
It’s quite the addition because, as of this fall, WestJet will offer the only non-stop flight between Western Canada and South America, operating three times weekly between Calgary and São Paulo.

“Our first flight between Western Canada and South America is the beginning of an exciting chapter in WestJet’s Calgary story. The new service between Calgary and São Paulo, aboard WestJet’s 787-9 Dreamliner, unlocks an entirely new continent for Western Canadians to explore. Guests can book flights between Calgary and São Paulo on WestJet.com beginning today for travel this fall.

It’s been a busy few months for WestJet, which announced back in August a new tropical destination from Calgary that started up last month.
