A second McDonald’s restaurant in Calgary announced Wednesday evening its temporarily closing due to a staff COVID-19 case just hours after one in north Calgary shut its doors.

The latest McDonald’s to close because an employee tested positive is the location at 3660 12th Avenue NE. The infected employee worked their last shift on November 15 from 11 pm to 6 am.

The McDonald’s at 300-177 Countryhills Boulevard NW is also undergoing a deep clean after a staff member there tested positive.

That employee’s last shift was on November 13 from 5:45 to 11 am.

Both restaurants have instructed all staff who worked with the infected individuals to self-isolate at home for 14 days.

They are also advising customers who came into the restaurant during employees’ last shifts to monitor for symptoms for the next two weeks.
