Calgary man dies in skiing incident in Moraine Lake area

A man from Calgary died this weekend after falling during a backcountry skiing trip.

A release from Lake Louise RCMP states that the 30-year-old man had been one of five men who had hiked to the peak of a nearby mountain for some July skiing.

The release notes that the man had been an experienced backcountry skier but that he suffered severe injuries after a fall on the descent.

The man had succumbed to those injuries even with EMS attending the scene, states the release.

The man’s name was not released by Lake Louise RCMP.
