One of Calgary’s favourite music festivals is inching ever closer, and a few choice acts have been leaked by the organizers to excite fans in the mean time.
The Calgary Folk Music Festival will be running from July 26 to 29 this year, but a peek at the line-up is already out four months before the first day of festivities.

The festival organizers have been releasing performer names through their Leak of the Week teasers, which will be running every seven days until the full line-up is announced on April 21.
So far, folk music fans in Calgary can expect to see Damien Jurado and A Tribe Called Red playing at Prince’s Island Park come July.
Damien Jurado has been a name in the indie-rock scene since the ’90s, though with a freshly released album (we’re talking May 4 fresh), The Horizon Just Laughed, he’s now more relevant than ever.
A Tribe Called Red merges electronica, hip-hop, and Indigenous roots to create music that, according to the Folk Fest website, “moves your heart and your feet and your head.”
Another leak is expected to come on March 19, so keep an eye out on the festival’s website and our event updates to stay informed on who’s coming to Calgary this summer.
