The start of the 2025-26 season is still seven weeks away, but several staffers are already back at the Saddledome preparing for Calgary Flames hockey.
The ice is in at the Saddledome, and it looks a little different than before.
The Flames have switched up their centre-ice design, opting for their white and yellow logo on top of a red background.

Previously, the Flames had a red and yellow logo at centre ice, on a white background.
The Flames have also made a change to the centre-ice red line.

Rather than going for the Blasty logo across the red line this season, the Flames went with their usual “Flaming C,” with white squares in between.

The change has garnered plenty of positive responses, and not just from Flames fans. One fan of an opposing team located just a few hours north couldn’t even hide his satisfaction with the beautiful design.
“As an Oilers fan, this centre logo is nice,” an Edmonton Oilers fan commented on the Flames YouTube page.
Oh my god I LOVE the new look!

Though the 2025-26 regular season isn’t set to begin until October, Flames fans can view the new design in game action for the first time on Sept. 21, as they will be hosting the Oilers in a split-squad preseason game.
The Flames’ home opener is set for Saturday, Oct. 11 versus the St. Louis Blues.
