Calgary just saw its first real snowfall of the season (PHOTOS)

Well, fall, it was nice knowing ya.

For any Calgarians who have woken up and looked straight at their phones this morning, you may want to take a peek outside.

You’ll see the same snowy scene that the rest of the city was greeted by this Wednesday morning. A night of snowfall has provided just enough of the white stuff to coat the trees and cover the lawns of YYC.

The weekly forecast from The Weather Network was calling for snow throughout the week, though the majority of that is expected to fall this coming Sunday.

Temperatures are expected to warm up a bit before then, reaching a high of 12°C on Friday, so we doubt that this first dusting of snow will stick around for long.

Still, it does give a glimpse into the long, dark months ahead for Calgary — though it is also quite beautiful in its own chilly way.
