Heading into the second week of January calls for a re-evaluation of those New Years resolutions. Are you still on track, or have you fallen off the wagon already?

High Performance Rodeo

  • What: This “rodeo” is a fantastic showcase that animates the city with some of the best live performances from around the world and is essentially known as Calgary’s International Festival of the Arts. Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team vs AMHL

  • What: In the effort to promote grassroots hockey and support the minor hockey league, Canada’s National Women’s Team will be playing 24 games against the AMHL. Come see them on their road to PyeongChang where they will hopefully bring home their fifth Gold Medal in the Winter Olympic Games.

Go Tubing at Canada Olympic Park

  • What: Calgary’s only tube park is the largest of its kind in Western Canada and now boasts 12 lanes, a four person tube option, and a dedicated magic carpet. A village including a food trailer, a deck with heaters, a fire pit, and washrooms have also been added for the 2017-18 season.

Hit the Slopes

  • What: Getting snow early this year means that our mountainous backyard is waiting for us with a fluffy layer of the white stuff, perfect for winter sports and activities. Take advantage and get some shredding in during this great pre-season, or take your snowshoes for an adventure around one of the many picturesque lakes that the Rockies have to offer.
  • Check the websites for Sunshine, Mount Norquay and Lake Louise to check hours of operation and see which trails are open!

Try out ClassPass

  • What: Mix up your fitness routine by purchasing a ClassPass membership and trying out exciting new fitness classes and studios around the city!
