Millarville Christmas Market

What: Established in 1988, this annual market features four days of Christmas lights, hay rides, photos with Santa and his reindeer, food, live entertainment, and more. Attendees will also get to shop for gifts from seasonal vendors.

PetSmart National Pet Adoption Weekend

What: From now until November 10, hundreds of Canadian animal welfare organizations will bring adorable, adoptable pets, including dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, guinea pigs, and rabbits into nearly every one of PetSmart’s 140 stores across the country. Regardless of which type of pet you choose to adopt, or where you adopted from, all new pet owners will receive a free adoption kit that provides important content that helps to integrate a new pet into the family.

Field of Crosses

What: At sunrise each morning until November 11, members of the public are invited to attend a formal flag raising ceremony at the Field of Crosses, where over 3,400 white crosses are displayed each year on November 1 and removed November 12. Each cross is inscribed with the name, rank, regiment, date of death and age at death of a Southern Alberta soldier killed in action. A special Remembrance Day ceremony will be held on November 11.
