Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash
What: The Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash is a giant inflatable obstacle course big enough for adults to jump around on. The gigantic floating fortress features a 15-foot tower, a climbing wall, a launch bag, a trapeze swing, and basically anything else you could ever imagine. Located, as the name suggests, on Sylvan Lake, the aqua park can be found just west of Red Deer, meaning that it is only an hour and a half drive from Calgary for a full day of fun on the lake.

Banff Gondola
What: Head to the summit for an unreal view above the treetops and a birds-eye view of six different mountain ranges, while sipping on coffee or a refreshing glass of wine. Start with a walk along the Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk to learn more about Canada’s first national park, or go indoors to sample from three restaurant menus. Then get hands-on in the world-class interpretive centre and theatre.

Esker Foundation
What: Esker Foundation connects the public to contemporary art through relevant, accessible, and educational exhibitions, programs, and publications. The gallery reflects on current developments in local, regional, and international culture; creates opportunities for public dialogue; and supports the production of groundbreaking new work, ideas, and research. Admission is free. The gallery is barrier-free.

Calaway Park
What: Calaway Park presents its 38th season of family fun. Enjoy rides, games, food and more.
When: Open daily until Monday, September 2. Then every Friday and Saturday from September 7 to October 13. Closing day on Monday, October 14.

Canada Day at Fort Calgary
What: Outside on the grounds, grab a bite from the food trucks’ caravan, take the kids to the Fort Calgary Kids Zone, meet your neighbourhood champions at the Community Tent Village, get a free temporary tattoo with the Girl Guides of Canada, and see the North West Mounted Police brass band perform live.
Enjoy a drink in our family-friendly indoor/outdoor beer garden located on the Fort Calgary patio, featuring Village Brewery beer and cider. Head inside the museum to enjoy some shade, the Indigenous Learning Space in Burnswest Theatre, Mountie uniform try-on station, and more.

Canada Day at Heritage Park
What: Celebrate Canada’s 152nd birthday at Heritage Park Historical Village. Enjoy a day packed full of Canadian history and fun, including a free pancake breakfast for the first 2,019 guests with paid admission in the park before 10:30 am. Featuring a Canada Day parade, live family entertainment, crafts, old-fashioned outdoor games, and a not-to-be-missed, mouth-watering BBQ tent.

Canada Day at Southcentre
