Pasta La Feasta
What: Pasta La Feasta is Calgary’s newest food festival leading up to World Pasta Day on October 25th. Nine restaurants are offering up their must-try pasta dishes, and a portion of all proceeds from the featured pasta dishes will go to The Alex Community Food Centre.

Ghostbusters in Concert 2019

What: Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra is hosting two shows paying tribute to the 1984 classic, Ghostbusters, by performing the original movie’s score alongside a live viewing of the film. This is the first time that the Grammy-nominated soundtrack has been reconstructed for the purpose of a live performance — an effort made with the help of Peter M. Bernstein, the son of original composer Elmer Bernstein.
The Friday concert will be followed by a Halloween party and attendees to both the concert and party are encouraged to arrive in costume. Saturday’s will feature a visit from the Calgary Ghostbusters to kick things off before the concert.

Halloween at Fort Calgary: A Barracks Boo-tacular and Black & White Movie Double Feature
What: Join Fort Calgary for two Halloween events on October 25. First bring the family for A Barracks Boo-tacular, with afternoon trick-or-treating and crafting in the museum. Then in the evening, enjoy a double feature of Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) and Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960).

Adult-only date night at Butterfield Acres 2019
What: Butterfield Acres has reserved select dates this month for child-free fun, offering an 18+ night at the patch for those looking to find a suitable pumpkin in peace. The official date night event starts at 5 pm (which is also when the farmyard will open for visits with animals) though the pumpkin hunt won’t begin until 6:15 pm. Participants will be able to take a sunset tractor ride out to the patch where you’ll be able to hunt down the most picture-perfect soon-to-be-Jack-o-Lantern, which you’ll be able to carve up shortly after.
