Rocky Mountain High – An Evening of John Denver

What: Featuring John Denver’s original conductor/arranger, Lee Holdridge, and the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra. Together with Canadian recording artists Rick and Steve Worrall, an all-star Canadian band, and guest artists soprano Kathleen Morrison and tenor Matthew Johnson, this production will take you back and have you reliving the songs as they were originally heard at the height of John’s career.

2018 Scotiabank Giller Light Bash YYC

Solidarity: A Possibilities event for Trans Day of Remembrance

What: Possibilities, a group for and by the non-monosexual communities (bisexual, pansexual, asexual, and otherwise non-monosexual), hosts a conversation with the goal of writing a collective letter of support from their community to the transgender community. This event is open to transgender and cisgender members, and is an intentionally queer, feminist, and anti-oppressive space.

An Evening with Amitav Ghosh

What: The Calgary Distinguished Writers Program presents An Evening with Amitav Ghosh. Amitav Ghosh was born in Calcutta and grew up in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. He is the author of two books of nonfiction, a collection of essays, and eight novels. His work has been translated into more than thirty languages and he has served on the jury of the Locarno Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival. Ghosh will give a public reading, followed by a book-signing.
