Calgary Taboo Show

What: The Taboo Naughty but Nice Sex Show is a weekend full of steamy shows, provocative performances, and a variety of vendors. Enjoy live entertainment, catch an educational seminar, and shop for a variety of items to help spice things up in the bedroom.

Ghosts and Gourmet at Heritage Park

What: Dine on an autumn-inspired three-course meal in the Wainwright Hotel and listen to ghost stories before heading outside for a 90-minute ghost tour. The premium tours are led by expert guides and feature personal encounters and eerie stories from past and present staff and guests.

What’s up with Bow Habitat Station

What: Explore Alberta’s wildlife and natural spaces on the first Friday of the month. Visit investigation stations in the Discovery Centre, then join the group activity with special guests from Alberta Parks at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, or 2:30 pm and discover how wildlife has adapted to city life. Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society will also be hosting an investigation station about furry and feathered friends found in the city. Note: hands-on activities are designed for learners ages 2 and up.

Field of Crosses

What: At sunrise each morning from November 1 to November 11, members of the public are invited to attend a formal flag raising ceremony at the Field of Crosses, where over 3,400 white crosses are displayed each year on November 1 and removed November 12. Each cross is inscribed with the name, rank, regiment, date of death and age at death of a Southern Alberta soldier killed in action. A special Remembrance Day ceremony will be held on November 11.

The Dude Show

What: A lifestyle show raising funds for Movember Foundation. Enjoy shopping at various vendors, ugly tattoo contest, video game tournament, food and drinks, and more. Adults only on November 1 and family friendly on November 2.

#LoveYYC Day 2019

What: Tourism Calgary is asking for locals to share why they love the city on their social media handles using #LoveYYC from now until November 2. The goal of the project is to infuse the affection we all feel for the city into the streets and create a positive environment. And after you’re done posting why you love Calgary on social media, make sure to check out the many LoveYYC Day deals around town on November 2 to show your Calgary pride.

Deals include discounts on arts, culture, attractions, experiences, food, drink, and lifestyle opportunities throughout the city, with many being available in the days leading up to, and including, November 2.

Central Library Turns 1!

What: Help Calgary Public Library – Central Branch celebrate its first birthday with a variety of events throughout the day. The first 500 attendees will receive a gift, plus there will be art installations and live entertainment to enjoy. Mayor Naheed Nenshi will also be leading a storytime at 10:40 am.

Bret “The Hitman” Hart Night at Calgary Hitmen

What: The Calgary Hitmen plan to honour their namesake, Calgary’s own wrestling superstar Bret “The Hitman” Hart, with a Bret “The Hitman” Hart Night on November 2 when they host the Saskatoon Blades. The game will feature the chance to get a photo with the legend, with all proceeds going towards the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre — an organization that Hart has been a committed supporter of for many years.

Prairie Wrestling Alliance has agreed to host a free wrestling card following the Hitmen’s game. A wrestling ring will be brought out onto the ice where a four match of PWA wrestlers will go at it in honour of Hart.

Haunted Calgary at New Horizon Mall

What: The parkade level of New Horizon Mall transforms into over 20,000 square feet of terrifying characters, sets, and props for Halloween. Haunted Calgary features three spooky attractions and a Family Frights Thrill Zone for all ages. Partial proceeds will be donated to local a charity.

Grim Manor

What: Grim Manor at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park features four haunted houses, live music by 5¢ Freakshow, Hank Pine & Lily Fawn, and DJ QBERT & THE FRESH CREW, and performances by Comedy Daredevil Ryan Stock and Amberlynn. There will also be food and beverages available for purchase.
