Adventures Among Orangutans

What: Biological anthropologist Cheryl Knott and wildlife photojournalist Tim Laman have been using innovative techniques and new technologies to gain a closer look at one of the most iconic, yet least understood of the world’s primates, the Orangutan. Get a glimpse into the secret world of these intelligent, unique, and resourceful primates through the eyes of two experts who have dedicated their life’s work to studying, protecting, and sharing their love of these amazing animals.

Podcast Live! with Rosanna Deerchild

What: Calgary Public Library hosts a speaker series featuring leading podcasters. Rosanna Deerchild brings 20 years of storytelling to the CBC Radio audience. An award-winning poet and journalist, Deerchild takes listeners on a journey to reclaim Indigenous story, history, and cultures to deepen understanding, strengthen Indigenous identity, and forge a new relationship with Canadians.

What: Learn all about Dungeons & Dragons on the first Monday of the month at The Ship & Anchor. These nights are specifically designed for anyone who has no experience with the world of ‘tabletop role-playing games’ such as D&D, Pathfinder, or any of the others out there. The evening will begin with a first-come-first-served selection of a character to play, followed by a quick Q&A, then diving right into the adventure.
