YYC Beer Week 2019

What: Beer Week 2019 will feature dozens of local Calgary craft breweries, restaurants, and retail locations participating throughout the week. Calgarians will be able to cash in on promotional beer-related menu offerings and events, with $1 from every item sold between June 3 and 9 going towards a local charity.

PechaKucha Night Calgary #37: Next

Seniors’ Days at Studio Bell

What: All seniors (65+) can enjoy FREE admission to Studio Bell on June 3 and 4 as part of Seniors’ Week in Calgary. A multi-generational experience that’s fun for the whole family, enjoy five floors of exhibitions, historic musical treasures, interactive activities, and more. Studio Bell’s “behind the glass” tours are also available for an added cost of $5 for seniors.

Dungeons & Dragons at the Ship

What: Learn all about Dungeons & Dragons on the first Monday of the month at The Ship & Anchor. These nights are specifically designed for anyone who has no experience with the world of ‘tabletop role-playing games’ such as D&D, Pathfinder, or any of the others out there. The evening will begin with a first-come-first-served selection of a character to play, followed by a quick Q&A, then diving right into the adventure.

Free Movie Screening: Gabrielle

What: Join Connections Counselling and Consulting Foundation and Humainologie for a free screening of “Gabrielle” on June 4 at 6:30 pm at Glenbow Theatre. “Gabrielle” was made in Montreal in 2013 by Louise Archambault. The star is Gabrielle Marion-Rivard who has Williams syndrome. The film won 6 Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Picture.

Hello! Stranger

What: The second event in the HelloStranger! series, the theme for this event is: Authentic and Empathic Leadership. Salima Stanley-Bhanji, the CEO of Humainologie, will facilitate a conversation with three young, Calgary-based social entrepreneurs who will shed light on how tapping into their own authenticity and what they personally care about has helped to carve out their innovative, socially conscious and successful career paths. 75th Anniversary of D-Day Lecture

What: Join The Military Museums on June 6 for the 75th anniversary of D-Day as they commemorate the day with a lecture by James Istvanffy on the greatest amphibious invasion in history. The discussion will include the Allied and German preparations leading up to the invasion, the main events of June 6, 1944, and the aftermath of the Allied liberation of Western Europe from Nazi occupation.
