Human Bonspiel – AKA life size curling

What: As part of Calgary’s Corporate Challenge off-season events, anyone with a team of 4 can participate in this fun winter activity. Often compared to life-size curling, each teammate will have 3 rounds to be launched along the ice and make it closest to the button. All in support of KidSport Calgary.

Founders Calgary

What: To shine a light on the struggles and support the movers and the shakers in our community, HELCIM and The Ace Class have collaborated to present Founders, a curated series designed for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs. From idea to execution, Founders will showcase first-hand insight of the highs and lows that go along with running your own show. Expect panel discussions with industry leaders and seasoned entrepreneurs with plenty of time for Q&A so you can fire off those burning questions.

Mixed Media Monday + Bonus Background

What: Join Julia and Nicole at The Paper And Ink Boutique on the last Monday of every month for Mixed Media Monday. In each session, attendees will learn to create an art journal page using a variety of mixed media techniques and products. Nicole and Julia will also show attendees how to use these same products and techniques to create a scrapbook page background, cards or tags.

Calgary’s Official Poetry Slam

What: Calgary’s Official Poetry Slam and Open Mic. Slam poetry is a type of competition where people read their poems without props, costumes, or music. The sign-up sheet for both the open mic and the slam will be released at 7:00 pm, and the show will start at 7:30 pm.

The New Brighton Club Storytime

What: Spend the morning with the Calgary Public Library listening to stories and singing songs that the whole family can enjoy.  The book truck will also be on site during these mornings. Great for ages 0-5 years, and everyone is welcome for this free drop in.

Beer Vs Whiskey Brewmaster’s Dinner

Each screening will include a post-screening discussion, featuring the director of the film itself and/or someone from the community at large known for their expertise or insightful views on the film subject.
