A wannabe Ricky Bobby was stopped by Brooks RCMP officers after he was apparently clocked going 219 km/hour.
The 21-year-old Calgary man had allegedly been racing another vehicle at the time of the traffic stop, which saw the two vehicles speeding westbound on Highway 1 at 2nd Street West in Brooks at around 11 pm on Saturday night.

The release states that there were two passengers in the vehicle that was stopped including one youth, though the identity of the driver of the other vehicle is still being investigated.
The 21-year-old driver is facing one count of dangerous operation of a conveyance and is expected appear in Brooks Provincial Court on October 9.
Police also noted that the highway had been wet from rain at the time of the alleged race.
