An Arctic Adventure is coming to Bridgeland this month

Feb 9 2021, 8:02 pm

As recommended by health officials, if you choose to participate in events outside of your home, please adhere to COVID-19 health and safety measures, including proper physical distancing, mask-wearing, and frequent handwashing. If you are sick, please stay home.

Get ready to climb ropes, run up and down staircases, and traverse “icefields” in Bridgeland’s Arctic Adventure circuit.

Running from February 12 to March 31, participants can choose their own adventure – from the full, self-guided course to a scavenger hunt.

Arctic Adventure activity stops include human curling, Peony Plaza Rodeo, Stairway to Heaven, Northern Safari, and Gnome Village.

There are 13 stops altogether, spread out within walking distance throughout the community of Bridgeland. Participants start and finish the circuit at Murdoch Park.

Take lots of pictures and videos along the route and enter to win one of 10 prize draws in the following categories:

  • Team Spirit
  • Dog Friendly
  • Lil’ Wee Ones
  • Quaran-“Teen”
  • Hunt Top Score
  • Family Fun
  • Beast Mode
  • Coldest Day
  • Solo Rip
  • Experience Explorers (65+)

If a scavenger hunt is more your speed, grab the downloadable map and head out with your phone or camera.

The scavenger hunt runs along both 1st Avenue NE and Centre Avenue, between Edmonton Trail and 11th Street NE. Track down a variety of scavenger hunt items and places, scoring five, 10, or 20 points each.

As a fun bonus, Bridgeland Distillery will be running an ice bar as an aprés event on weekends. After your adventure circuit, pop by the outdoor ice bar for some winter cocktails by the fire.

Ice bar hours will be from 2 to 6 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (plus Family Day) from February 12 to 28.

Try out the adventure course and scavenger hunt with your family or cohort, or challenge your friends and neighbours at a distance.
