Delivery drivers warned about BC murder suspect who may be ordering takeout

He’s considered “extremely violent,” and he may also be ordering takeout. That’s the latest word from law enforcement, as murder suspect Brandon Nathan Teixeira continues to evade capture by police.

Teixeira, 27, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the shooting death of 28-year-old Nicholas Khabra on October 23, 2017, in Surrey.

Now, in a bulletin sent to its couriers and obtained by Daily Hive, food delivery service Skip The Dishes is warning that Teixeira may be using its services.

The bulletin says that RCMP “believe the individual may order food from food delivery services, including in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley areas of British Columbia and Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, and Grimshaw areas of Alberta.”

The bulletin noted that Teixeira “may place an order under a different name.”

Anyone who encounters a “person who looks like or may be Teixeira” is asked to call 911, or contact the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) and “not approach the person directly.”

$55,000 reward offered

Earlier this month, IHIT also announced they are offering a $55,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Teixeira.

“IHIT will be stepping up its efforts to locate Brandon Teixeira and is partnering with Crime Stoppers and the Bolo Program, which will be launching an amplification campaign through new technology and communication channels that will hopefully lead to Brandon Teixeira’s arrest,” they said, at the time.

Police say Teixeira considered armed and dangerous.

He is described as:

• Caucasian
• 178 cm (5’10)
• 73 kg (161 LB)
• Brown hair
• Snake tattoo on the left side of his chest
• Sleeve tattoo on left arm

In a statement, Superintendent Donna Richardson, Officer-in-Charge of IHIT, urged  Teixeira to turn himself in.

“Let me be clear. We are not looking for witnesses or for people to testify in court. This matter is ready to go to trial. We are only looking for Brandon Teixeira so we can hold him to account for his first-degree murder charge,” she said.

“To the friends and associates of Brandon Teixeira, I remind you that helping him to evade lawful custody is a serious criminal offence,” said Richardson. “To Brandon Teixeira, there is nowhere to go and we will find you sooner or later. Do the right thing. Contact your lawyer and turn yourself in.”
