Police investigating after body found in northeast Calgary on Thursday

Calgary Police are investigating after a body was discovered in the city’s northeast late Thursday morning.

Around 11:30 am, police were called to Marlborough Park, in the 1200 block of Maitland Drive NE, in response to the reported discovery.

Now, the Medical Examiner has been called out to investigate the incident, in conjunction with Calgary Police Service’s Homicide Unit.

A cause of death has not yet been determined, but police said an autopsy to identify the victim – as well as determine the cause of death – is scheduled for Monday, January 8.

No further information on the case is being made available at this time.
