Blue Jay Sessions live music event returns to in-person performances
The organizers behind Blue Jay Sessions have announced their plans to bring live music to in-person venues once more starting this September.
Blue Jay Sessions are ongoing events that feature Canadian musicians in intimate venues, usually alongside food and drink. The sessions pivoted to online-only virtual concerts during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, but as things get back to some semblance of normal, the live music will be returning to local venues once more.

Dan Clapson, co-organizer of the event, stated in a press release that the new home of Blue Jay Sessions will be at Mikey’s on 12th.
“After almost seven months, it is nice to be able to bring back this series,” said Clapson in the release.
“We are excited to work with Mikey’s on 12th as our new home venue. They have already been doing live music safely with innovative plexiglass setups, so we couldn’t feel more confident in popping up in their space.”
Limited tickets will be available to ensure safe physical distancing between attendees, and will only be available in tables of two, four, or six.
Even with the new precautions in place, artists are excited to get back to performing live and in-person.
“These are strange times, but with the right precautions, it’s nice to be able to perform for people again,” said Blue Jay Sessions’ regular performer Aaron Pollock in the release.
“We can’t wait to perform for people in a safe space like Mikey’s that still has a great atmosphere for live music.”
The Blue Jay Sessions: Anniversary Edition event will take place at Mikey’s on 12th from September 2 to 4, and will feature 18 musicians over the course of six sessions and three evenings.
