Hundreds of people gathered in Calgary’s Olympic Plaza Saturday afternoon for a demonstration to honour Black lives lost to racist violence.
This is the latest demonstration in the wake of George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police. Demonstrators are also calling for justice in the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and Tony McDade.
Speakers addressed the crowd, where most attendees wore masks to prevent coronavirus spread.
