Thousands of people showed up to a rally in Edmonton calling for an end to anti-Black racism and police brutality.

Demonstrators gathered at the Alberta Legislature to call for an end to systemic racism and justice over George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police. Some who attended estimated more than 10,000 people were there.

Daily Hive has reached out to the Edmonton Police Service to double check attendance estimates.

This demonstration was one of many around the continent that have been organized since Floyd’s death on May 25.
