Calgary just got a new neighbourhood gastro pub with an eclectic cocktail list

Late last year, Calgary restaurant Prime Time announced it would be closing its Ramsey location after 14 years. While it’s always sad to see a long-time restaurant close its doors, we now know what’s replaced it.

Bizarre Gastro Pub has just opened its doors in the neighbourhood at 2016 Spiller Rd. SE, where it will be offering craft cocktails and bites.

With walls adorned with brightly coloured street art and comfortable leather booths, the space has received a head-to-toe makeover.

Leaning into its mantra that “ordinary is overrated”, Bizarre offers an extensive cocktail menu with classics such as martinis, margaritas, and negronis. However, it also offers a spin on favourites, including a pickleback caesar and a smoked maple old-fashioned.

Mirroring its eclectic cocktail selection, Bizarre’s menu takes inspiration from around the world. Its share plates and appetizers include fried dill pickles, mini lobster rolls, and chicken kebabs.

That’s not all, as diners will also be able to get their hands on everything from soups and salads to handhelds, pizza, and pasta.

For those looking to snag a deal, the restaurant offers multiple deals throughout the week, with specials featuring tacos, wings, 25 per cent off wine, pasta, and salads.
