Benjamen Kozlovich was arrested in Chilliwack on March 12, on unendorsed warrants for Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
Police noted in a release that the alleged assault took place before Kozlovich joined the RCMP.
Police said the arrest came about after new information gathered by Edmonton Police Service in January of this year was shared with the BC RCMP.
Now, the BC RCMP said it has launched an internal investigation and is assessing the member’s employment status.
Kozlovich completed RCMP training in January 2018.
He has made his first appearance in court and has been released on bail.
